Legal obligation
- Containers and packaging of cosmetic products bear, indelibly, easily legibly and visibly: name and address of the responsible person, nominal content, date of minimum durability or period after opening, particular precautions, batch number, function and the list of ingredients (Art. 19(1)). The list of ingredients need only appear on the packaging (Art. 19(1)(g)).
- The language of the particulars under Art. 19(1)(b), (c), (d) and (f) and under paragraphs 2 to 4 is determined by the law of the Member State in which the product is made available to end users (Art. 19(5)).
